Bill Walton - A True Legend

William Theodore "Bill" Walton III a true NBA legend known to be as Bill Walton was born on November 5, 1952. A former UCLA Bruins basketball player who played under John Wooden in the late 70’s has won the College Player of the year awards. Bill Walton is also a member of the U.S Men’s National team.

Bill Walton was drafted by the Portland Trail Blazers as overall number one pick. Considered to dominate the league, Walton’s was amassed with injuries throughout his career. But it didn’t take long for Walton’s career to reach the ultimate goal in winning a championship. He helped the Cinderella team of Portland Trail Blazers to become NBA champions during the 1977 NBA finals beating the Philadelphia 76ers. Walton was named as the finals MVP of that year.

Walton’s ankle injury made him retire from basketball. His career ending injury never stopped him from loving the game of basketball. He is one of the sports broadcasters of NBA. His jersey number 32 was retired by both Portland Trail Blazers and his college alma mater the UCLA Bruins. He is also named as one of the 50 greatest players of NBA.

Walton’s contribution to the game of basketball is indeed an inspiring to many young players that aspires to play in NBA.
