Sam Bowie - No. 2 Selection in the 84' NBA draft behind Michael Jordan

We all have witnessed many aspiring college players going to the NBA draft. Many aspirants failed to be drafted but the excellent ones are the only lucky individuals to enter the NBA. Many young talents in college hoops are showcasing their talents to numerous NBA scouts. Kentucky University is one of the top schools in the nation that have amassed numerous talented college basketball players.
One of the players that Kentucky University has produced is the former no. 2 draft pick Sam Bowie during the 84 NBA draft night. Sam Bowie was picked by the Portland Trail Blazers ahead of NBA’s finest athlete, known as Michael Jordan as the 3rd pick of the 84’ NBA draft.
Today, it is considered that the selection of Sam Bowie by the Blazers is the biggest mistake in the NBA draft. Bowie played 10 seasons as a pro in the NBA. His career was affected by injuries making him sit out most of the season.
Many no. 2 drafts choice succeeded in the NBA. They are Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma Thunder and the legend Jerry West of the L.A Lakers and Alonzo Mourning of the Miami Heat.
